UPDATE! I just received an email from Paul Olson at 3G Studios saying that he saw this blog post and is offering his assistance to help me get in the game. Now THAT is customer service! I am now a fan of 3G, and you should be, too. (Full email after the break).
Yes, I view Facebook as a legitimate gaming platform, and yes, I was genuinely excited to play the first true Facebook FPS, Brave Arms. I even went as far as signing up early in order to secure my gamertag (Ender - rekkanize). However, the game launched a few weeks ago and I haven't been able to play one single second of it because it constantly tells me that I need to install a browser extension (on all three browsers I've tried), and even though I have downloaded them multiple times, it still won't let me get past the character creation screen.
I have spent probably a total of 30 minutes trying to get into this game to no avail. This defeats the purpose of a Facebook game. They are supposed to be easy and accessible and so far, this is neither nor.
P.S. Brave Arms, I still want to play you, so please fix yourself. Thanks.
Hi Mark,
I saw your blog post about not being able to get in the game. We can help you figure out what the problem is, and we are available between 9am – 6pm PDT. If you contact us today, I will be outside the office from 10 – 3. If you don’t receive a reply by 3 from someone else on the team, I will be able to respond then.
Please email me or check our forums at http://apps.facebook.com/bravearms/forums and start a thread. We also can also submit a support ticket athttp://bravearms.zendesk.com. I can even chat with you live on our Facebook support account. Just add http://www.facebook.com/bravearms.support as a friend, and we will be able to chat. Most likely, antivirus software, a firewall, or UAC are blocking the download, but we are here to help you figure it out, so please contact us.
Please note that Brave Arms is currently in beta, so there may be connection problems with computer configurations that have not been tested. We depend on the Beta testers to help us find these issues.
Thanks,
Paul Olson
