We're nearly at a close for this album primer series, and this week brings us the penultimate track from Shoes And Socks Off's new album Robin Hood Waiter Champion have-Not, which is due to release on August 8th.
This week's track is called "Throwing opinions At Walls", and features some beautiful violin work at the tracks close. Not content with just that though, this weeks video is compiled from clips of old "The Young Ones" episodes -- a show which holds a special place in my heart, and one which I can't recommend highly enough. Be sure to check it out.

Here is the eighth track to be taken from Robin Hood Waiter Champion Have-Not, the forthcoming album from Shoes And Socks Off, and this week's track is slightly different in that it features full-band instrumentation, as opposed to being another acoustic singer-songwriter track. The track also sounds a good deal like Nirvana in one of their quieter moments, and if that's the sort of thing that interests you, check out the video below.

It's a sexy, intimate podcast this week with the three of us. We learn that Giang can kill a sheep with his bare hands, Russ becomes a graduate and Steven turns Irish in the first 5 seconds.
We return this week to talk about Crackdown 2, iPad gaming, Dexter, Nier, Monkey Island 2, Deathspank, Deadliest Warrior, Uncharted 2 DLC, babies and we finish with a listener email.

Oops! It seems that in all the excitement, I forgot to post last weeks Shoes And Socks Off track. Without further ado, then, here is track six from the new album Robin Hood Waiter Champion have-Not, entitled "Sit Down Shut Up".
The video for this track features footage from an episode of The Moomins (the 80's stop-motion puppet version), called "The Lady Of The Cold". I don't know if The Moomins aired in the US or Australia, but this brings back some memories for me!

I have maintained a digital-only music library since 2003 (which currently boasts over 22,000 songs), and have used iTunes every step of the way. And as much as everyone likes to complain about iTunes - myself included - there are a few simple ways to tweak iTunes and turn it into something much more useful than you'd think. Here is how I organize my iTunes library, which significantly upgrades its functionality and ease of use.

Here is the seventh track from Shoes And Socks Off's upcoming album Robin Hood Waiter Champion Have-Not, which is due out on August 9th on Big Scary Monster Records. Interestingly enough, this is the most expensive video yet, costing an whopping £5 to make.
The majority of the video is filmed with a camera attached to a kite, and it makes for interesting viewing, though you might want to be careful if you suffer from motion sickness.
The song itself is another interesting one, and rather uncharacteristically, swells quite subtly from lone singer/songwriter to a full-band affair in the lead-up to the track's climax. For being shot on such a low budget, it's actually quite impressive how well the music and video both come to a crescendo together. don't just take my word for it though, check out the video below.

As a last push before they start promoting their forthcoming album, UK band Talons are releasing their new single "Trevelyan" -- named after the James Bond bad guy, played by Sean Bean -- as a free download.
Talons' music has been described as a mix of hardcore and post-rock, with violins (the band are a six-piece, made up by a drummer, three guitarists and two violinists), and it makes for interesting listening.
The single is available to download now, and can be found here. As previously mentioned, it's free, so go ahead and check it out. no comments

If you're as big a fan of instrumental/ambient/post-rock music as I am (um, that's a thing that could happen, right?), then you're in for a treat; whilst you were sleeping, the post-arockalypse happened.
A few days ago, I stumbled onto a post-rock compilation available for free download, released by strangeglue.com. The compilation, entitled Strange Glue And The Post-Rock Underground: Vol. 3 is comprised of eight tracks from a selection of post-rock bands from all over the world. Whilst some of these bands are well established (Pelican, the American Dollar, pg.lost) there are also a lot of relatively obscure bands on the compilation too. The one thing that doesn't change, however, is the unrelenting quality of each and every track on the album; the standard of music on offer here is exceptionally high, especially for a free download. The biggest surprise though, is just how good the lesser known bands on this compilation are; I really can't recommend French band Microfilm, German band Collapse Under The Empire or Russian band Analog Sound highly enough. Put quite simply, there's not a single bad track on the entire compilation.
If I've managed to pique your interest, and you'd like to check the album out for yourself, you can download it from here. no comments

Good news everybody! The gang of four is back for this week's podcast. Don't get too excited though, because Steven brings up vampires again. Tyler gives up on reading, Mark tries to shoot some deer and Giang turns into Gay Robot.
This week we cover Super Mario Galaxy, Alan Wake, Field and Stream, Futurama, True Blood, inFamous and Puzzle Quest 2. We also finish things off with a listener email about PlayStation Plus.
