Hey everyone! As you may/should have heard during our latest podcast, we are giving out a free copy of the game Heroes of Newerth.
Heroes of Newerth is a multiplayer arena combat game, and an updated take on the Warcraft III mod, DotA, but you PC gamers should already know what it is. The game costs $30 to buy, is download only, and playable on PC and Mac. I was just going to leave it open to our podcast fanbase, but that wouldn't really be fair the rest of you, so now it's open to everyone.
All you need to do is leave a post on this comment that says...anything. Whatever you want, it doesn't really matter. Just leave a comment and you are automagically entered to win. We will pick the winners later this week. Good luck! no comments

I just got a free year subscription to OnLive, the subscription and web-based gaming service that streams games directly to you from their servers. It's a good idea, and I was excited to try it out, but when I went to download the client on my home computer, the above message is what I got.
Sorry, OnLive, requiring me to be hardwired into my network at all times in order for me to play is not really going to work for me. Please either let me play over WiFi, or come to my house and install a router in my bathroom. no comments

If you've ever wondered how government spooks spend their free time -- you know, the five minutes of each day not taken up by saving the world, blowing stuff up, shooting evil dudes, playing with the coolest new tech, and, of course, making time with beautiful women -- then don't worry, because Alpha Protocol has you covered. So what exactly does a spy do in his downtime? Well, he (or she) answers E-mails of course; E-mails just like the one below:

Of course, any spy worth his salt should have an arsenal of snappy comebacks for such an occasion, and again Alpha Protocol has you covered there; hit the jump to see the three possible, and very chucklesome, responses.

Chances are if you are reading this site you're a pretty savvy fella (you're not female, that much is certain). Knowing this then, why would I put this post up? If TheEasyMode caters to the gaming elite, what reason could I have for posting about the most common of gaming denominators?
Because I like to win one-sided arguments on the internet, that's why. And yes, I will delete all comments that attempt to debate the point that Farmville sucks. no comments
Now that the digital dust has settled on E3 and I’ve had a day to reflect on the craziness that it was, I want to put my experience in writing. What I failed to do, however, was to keep diligent records of what I witnesses across those three days, so this post may seem a little rambling and disjointed. If for some reason you don’t make it to the end (I don’t blame you), just hear this: Go to E3. Find a way to get there. Do whatever it takes to experience the event at least once in your life, you will not regret it. Now on to my story.
I wasn’t even absolutely positive that I was going to E3 until the day before it started. The company I work for didn’t have a booth or anything, and I’m not a business development guy, but I was trying to use my job as the PR Manager to as leverage for my boss to get me a full pass to the show. Luckily passes didn’t turn out to be as scarce as we thought, so I got my own full ticket.
The Los Angeles Convention Center is about 10 miles and 5 billion other cars away from my office, so I had plenty of time sitting in traffic to get myself psyched for what I was about to see. When I finally got into downtown LA, I could feel the electricity in the air, and it wasn’t just because of all the TVs, monitors, Xboxes, PS3s, Wiis, and everything that had just been turned on in the last hour, but it was also the day of game 6 of the NBA Finals, and it was rumored that Michelle Obama was going to be there, too. The entire city was a throbbing ball of energy. It was great. Sometimes I really love LA.

Just as I was beginning to think that this year's E3 conference was somewhat of a disappointment, a little bit of hope came from the strangest of places: Konami's E3 press event.
Now, I'm not talking about Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow, which, going by popular opinion, is shaping up to be pretty good, or Neverdead, which despite having an awful trailer, looks like it could have promise. No, I am talking about the new Vatra Games developed Silent Hill, the YouTube trailer for which is embedded below:
Whilst the game still looks a little rough, this trailer has me excited for a number of reasons: Though it's still early, it looks like Vatra Games seem to have nailed that eerie Silent Hill look and feel, and it's great to see the return of the nightmare world -- you know, the proper nightmare world, filled with rust, and decay, and blood. Also, this new game seems to be a marriage of Shattered Memories creepy torch exploration and the combat/gunplay of the previous games; Shattered Memories was extremely atmospheric, and was great at building tension, but the only problem is that the tension never really went anywhere. Instead, all we got were those frustrating chase sequences, so here's hoping that Vatra Games can blend the two elements together, to make something truly special.
It's also good to see that, as the first Silent Hill game without the series' composer, Akira Yamaoka, at the helm, the music (1minute 30seconds into the video) still seems to fit the game perfectly.
After watching this trailer, I can safely say that I'm cautiously optimistic about the game, as the early signs seem to be pointing in all of the right directions. Personally, I can't wait to jump back into the Silent Hill universe, and this new game seems like it could be worth the wait. no comments

Microsoft: You really want this thing that you don't really want.
Sony: You should probably start paying for that free stuff. Also: see above.
Nintendo: Here are all those games you asked for last year! no comments
The next GoldenEye was officially and finally announced today. It is going to be exclusive to the Wii (which basically means that the graphics will be true to the 1997 version), but still has those great game modes that we all loved like Slappers Only, Paintball, and Golden Gun. For me, it was Lasers in the Temple or nothing.
When this game comes out, the same rule applies just as it did 13 years ago - if you play as Oddjob, you are a cheap bastard. no comments
I'm not sure if everyone got this email from Sony today, but LA area gamers can be the first to play with the Playstation Move tomorrow (Tuesday, June 15) if they show up between 6 and 9pm at one of three participating Best Buys throughout the city.If you go, I hope you have fun, but you won't see me there. I'll be at the Los Angeles Convention Center gettin' mah E3 on, then heading to Hollywood for an exclusive party put on by Nexon so's I can get my free drink on. Ya heard? no comments
